ITINERARY IN 3 DAYS
The artistic craftsmanship of this territory, is based on the work of ancient traditions performed with characteristic materials of the area that are well suited to the most modern technologies. There are many companies where you can buy hats, pottery, scarves, bags and other products. Our itinerary starts from Massa Fermana with a visit to the Museum of Ancient Itinerant Crafts, located on the ground floor of the ancient Castle. It certainly is the best way to learn about the manufacturing and machinery used in the past. We then continue towards Montappone where you must visit the Mad Hatter's Exhibition and the Hat Museum, which summarizing very well all stages of production and cultural progress of Montappone. Among hats, wool and top hats we can also find hats worn by celebrities like Federico Fellini. On the road we come to the  Vidon Corrado, a small hamlet so dear to the ingenious painter Osvaldo Licini whose house you can visit. Going on to Falerone, famous for the Archaeological Park, we have the opportunity to relive the local traditions by participating in festivals. En route a brief stop-over in Servigliano that was founded around the year 1000 and was renovated at the request of Pope Pio VI. Of particular interest is the quadrangular structure of the urban plan of the old town. We continues to the discovery of a rarity: an ancient early Christian architecture located in the historical center of Belmonte Piceno, which in prehistoric times was a significant center for processing raw amber from the Baltic lands. The nearby Monsapietro Morico on the other hand, is known for the manufacturing of crochet and of the ‘tombolo’ (making lace on cushions). Another center famous for its landscape is Montottone: also known as "lu paese de coccià " known for centuries for the manufacturing of clay artifacts. No one knows who introduced this activity but from historical sources it is documented that it was already present between 1200 and 1300. Interesting is the visit to the "Museum of Ceramics crafts".
