Food and Wine – a Taste of the Fermo area

pacchetto-enogastronomia1° day: CAMPOFILONE - visit the center, which developed within the castle walls in the XI century around the Benedictine Abbey of San Bartolomeo. A typical lunch in a restaurant with the famous maccheroncini, typical egg pasta, made completely by hand by the town’s women. In the afternoon we will visit some workshops where the product is packaged.
2° day: MONTERUBBIANO: the journey to discover the gastronomic specialties of the Marche takes us on the road to Moresco. A visit to the village, known for its famous heptagonal tower of the XVII century. We continue to Monterubbiano, a lovely village where time seems to have stood still. A concentration of art, nature, history with stunning views over the countryside of the Fermo area. Lunch in a restaurant where you can taste the famous and typical fried tagliatelle. In the afternoon visit to the oil-mill where it will be possible to taste extra virgin olive oil produced in the surrounding countryside. Later a visit to a dairy farm for a tasting of cheeses from the area.
3° day: ORTEZZANO - Ortezzano, where the impressive irregular pentagonal tower and Ghibelline battlements loom in the distance, is a town already mentioned by Plinio the Elder. Visit to a Farm well known for the production of over 20 types of jams (Pink, Zucchini, Potatoes, Strawberries) with tastings. Lunch based on local specialties.
